It is with great sadness that I must tell you all that Thomas passed away on June 3rd, 2005.
Thomas has meant so much to so many of us. He was our bright light, our success story as each of us slowly lost our battle. He was an amazing old fellow, and I know he had tons of friends waiting for him at the bridge. When I couldn't help my sweet boy Wulfgar, at least I could do some small thing for Thomas by doing the website. Through the generosity of many, Thomas beat the odds. I am honored that we all had a small part in celebrating his 16th birthday, which would be a milestone for any dog. It was not bone cancer, but old age that finally caught up with Thomas. His body could no longer keep up with his amazing spirit. Thomas will be sorely missed. |

Thomas' Story The Thomas Fund started with a post to the Canine Bone Cancer message group on Yahoo.Thomas, a fourteen-year-old Black Lab from London, had been diagnosed with bone cancer. His owner Daniel was very distraut and heartbroken over the diagnosis of his loyal friend. Daniel had little money to care for Thomas. Several people on the Canine Bone Cancer message group began racking their brains for ways to help Thomas and Daniel.Through personal experience we all know that this situation is devastating. The Thomas Fund was set up through Paypal so that people may make donations to help offset the cost of treatment for Thomas. The generosity of strangers allowed Thomas to continue to receive the holistic supplements and medicines that he needed to remain healthy.
